Calling All Cape Cod High School Students!!

Cape Cod Maritime Museum is the Cape’s only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating local maritime heritage. The museum strives to provide ways for all ages to understand and enjoy our local maritime culture, and the Sea Scholars Prize was started to encourage maritime scholarship at the high school level.

What is the Sea Scholars Prize?

The Sea Scholar's Prize is a scholarship contest for students of Cape Cod high schools. The cash awards go to the top local high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. There are three categories for submission, with 1st-3rd place prizes for each category. Click the button below for detailed guidelines and for the prompts. Fair winds and following seas!

How to Participate

Click the button below to access the Google Form for submitting your essay/project. The deadline for submissions is annually by April 18th, 11:59pm. If you have any questions or issues submitting, please email info@capecodmaritimemuseum.org or call the museum at (508) 775-1723.

The Cash Awards

Local judges, chosen for their experience with these topics, will review the submissions. Judges will choose three winners in each category. The prizes are as follows: 1st place - $1,000 & $500 to winner’s school; 2nd place - $500; 3rd place - $250. Prize money is restricted for college tuition, testing, applications, or other college-related needs.
