Our museum is very fortunate to have an extensive and truly unique collection of maritime archives, photographs, tools, and more. We’re currently in the process of digitizing and making them available for the public.

  • Ina S. Alexander Postcard Collection

    Mrs. Alexander collected postcards from the Cape and other places, keeping them carefully organized in a scrapbook.

    Edward P Harding Photographs

    Mr. Harding took photographs after a hurricane in 1954 off Cataumet and Marion, photos of a frozen harbor, and photos of a Summer Regatta in Edgartown.

    This collection is composed of postcard images of Cape Cod and beyond, and their heartfelt messages written on the back give us a glimpse of the past.

  • The Shipwreck SS City of Columbus, and Mr. Charles Daniels

    In 1884, the Savannah Line steamer SS City of Columbus ran aground off the coast of Martha's Vineyard. Only 26 of the over 100 passengers were rescued. Mr. Charles Daniels lost his wife and son in the wreck.
